This dress has a variety of textures and shades. I have this fabulous tye-dyed velvet that is embroidered and has a bumpy texture to it. I used that for the bodice and the bottom ruffle. The bottom ruffle sits on top of the skirt layer. For the skirt I used a textured striped fabric that has turquoise, chocolate and olive green. I appliqued a turqoise batik butterfly to the bodice. The bodice is gathered under the bust. Tucked under the butterfly's wings, I sewed straps that tie in the back. The top straps are 2 different fabrics, the batick fabric for one, and a velvet embroidered strap. The back of the bodice has elastic at the top to give you a perfect fit.

Made from a navy corduroy. Wide patchwork sides in different shades and fabrics of blue. I appliqued swirly vines, flowers, leaves and butterfly to each side. I did a lot of free motion stiching to the butterfly and flowers. Pocket on left leg. 2 large back pockets. Bias cut waistband with cotton drawstring.
